The Bear's Den

Welcome to The Bear's Den. This is the "home" for your web adventure. If you have questions, this should be the first place to look. It would be a good idea to bookmark this page now. While on your journey, you can use "bread crumbs" to help guide you through the web site. You will always find the bread crumbs directly below the bear's front paw. These crumbs will tell you what page you are currently on, and sometimes the previous page. You will also be using the buttons to the left of your screen.

Over the course of your journey, you will be referring back to this web site almost daily. You will need to follow all directions carefully and complete each unit in the order you are asked to. At the beginning of your work, you will have the chance to download "The Guide" that will help keep you organized. Some of your work will be emailed to your teacher. Other work will need to be handed in directly to your teacher. (You teacher will let you know about each assignment.) Unless you are instructed to do so, you will always need to complete the reading portion of each unit before moving on to the assignments and questions. All you really need to do is work through the assignments as they are listed.

Each unit will look the same. Below is an example, along with an explaination of each area.

When answering questions, on or off line, be sure to answer them in complete sentences. For information on how to do this, and for a few examples, you can click here. You will also need to pay close attention to spelling, grammar, and punctuation. (Your teacher may provide you with an editing checklist.)

Before getting started, download The Guide and complete the "Important Information" section. Remember, when you "dowload" a document, you will be opening a new program. After the file opens in Adobe Acrobat Reader, you will need to print the page.

Now, on to your first unit. Click HERE to begin Unit 1.
