Goals
1. The 5th grade team met at the beginning of the 2003-2004 school
year and identified the needs for curriculum resources for the U.S.
Regions unit.
2. The 5th grade
team used the Douglas County School District curriculum and outlined
specific teaching/learning points and standards for the U.S. Regions
unit.
3. Working together,
the 5th grade team located resources that were valuable to the development
of the U.S. Regions unit. The team located at least one online resource
for every Social Studies checkpoint.
4. Each member
of the 5th grade team implemented one or two of the Social Studies
standards related to the U.S. Regions unit in their own classroom.
Each member used data collecting tools to measure the effectiveness
of each online resource.
5. After implementing
the online learning tools, the 5th grade team members met to review
the data they had each collected. Based on their data, the team
decided to continue teaching the U.S. Regions unit in the same manner. |
